As a photography newbie, I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop in hopes to add that extra “umph” (if you will) to my photos.
The only problem…I need help! This is a call to anyone out there with any helpful tips, hints, suggestions, you name it.

If I had any tips I’d freely give them to you but I don’t use photoshop! 😦 There are online tutorials on Youtube though. Here’s a channel that looks good: https://www.youtube.com/user/NewWorldOps

While photoshop offers a lot of great features, you might wanna look into Lightroom if you plan to take a lot of landscape photos. Adobe Lightroom will definitely add the “umph” you’re looking for and there are tons of tutorials available on youtube as well 🙂

I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve just begun and want that “umph” too. So far I’ve gotten lucky a bit with some of my editing but it’s all by luck. How’s the Adobe thing working out?

It’s going, but a bit tricky. Some other apps like Pixlr seem to be easier to maneuver around, but I’d like to keep trying with Photoshop.

YouTube has tons of great tutorials. Or if you would like to start off simpler, GIMP 2 is a free editing program that is a lot less complicated. I use gimp a lot. I also have a few how-to’s on my blog if you need more help. Good luck!
